My Family Lives in the Community
As a matter of fact we live 10 minutes from our business location. We shop and patronize the business in the community. We try to shop local as much as we can. I believe that we offer a better product. Having taken the classes I now teach, as well as family and friends having taken the same classes, a lot of time the instructors make you feel they are there more just to collect a student's money. They rush you through the course just tossing out bits and pieces of information. I take my time and explain in full detail.
I make sure the students understand the information I have given them and if not I invite them to see me after class is over. I tell at the end of the class, even though the classroom time is over if they have questions feel free to email. I have been in too many classes where before the class ends, the next class is at the door waiting to get in. If you have questions or want to explore something further the instructor doesn't have the time because the next class is walking in. When the class is done it is done. I enjoy teaching people, passing on knowledge.
When I am at the range or some other place and I see people making mistakes, I always offer a helping hand while others stare or point and make fun of them. If I have a classroom I can reach more people that need instruction or have questions. I hope to expand the business and be able to offer more training in different areas as well as help the community.
When a student walked into the classroom we were strangers, I hope when they walk out we are friends. I believe in giving back to the community in which we live and hope to be able to offer support to the community with what my business affords me. I am a USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Certified Instructor, a Maryland State Police Qualified Handgun Instructor and a lifelong member of the NRA.
