MARYLAND WEAR AND CARRY PERMIT

MARYLAND WEAR AND CARRY PERMIT

Maryland Wear and Carry

The Maryland Wear and Carry Permit Class is a 16 hour course that is taught over two 8 hour days including live fire qualification. Students will fire a total of 25 rounds at 3, 5, 7 and 15 yards at a standard B-27 target. To pass students must score 70%. The live fire qualification will be done at a local firearm range the morning of day 2. Students must have their own transportation and meet at the range. For an 1st time  permit students must sign up for a Day 1 Wear and Carry Permit Class/Renewal followed by a Day 2 Wear and Carry Class in order to complete the course of training so they can submit their application to the Maryland State Police. Taking this class does not guarantee that you will be granted a Wear and Carry Permit by the Maryland State Police.  Due to the Maryland General Assembly passing HB 824 and it being singed into law by the Governor, as of October 1st 2023 the initial application fee is $125.00. Those that are renewing their license the fee if $75.00.

You do not need an HQL to take this class. As a matter of fact, if you do not have one you can apply for one after being approved and having received your permit in the mail from the Maryland State Police for free. We will show you how.

Once you receive your Maryland Wear and Carry Permit you can apply for a Pennsylvania non-resident and a Florida non-resident concealed carry permit without any additional training classes. Just supply the proper documentation and pay the application fee. The Pennsylvania permit fee is $25.00 and can be done on line just like the Maryland Wear and Carry Permit application BUT the concealed carry permit must be picked up in person. The Florida non-resident permit fee is $55.00. As part of the applying for the permit you must provide ink fingerprints done by a law enforcement agency. For those wishing to get the Florida permit I can point you in the right direction to get your ink fingerprints done. Your permit will be mailed to you via USPS.
